At Matte De Luz the safety and overall wellbeing of each of our guests is our number one priority. In order to ensure each person’s safety in coming to Matte De Luz we require each person to a phone call interview about medical condtions or any health concerns so we can both prepare properly.
It is imperative that any and all medical history be disclosed on the form at that time. Once we have this talk we will discuss with each person directly any medications that need to be stopped beforehand and address any medical concerns that a guest may have. We cannot confirm any person’s eligibility for attending any of our programs until after we have some kind of communication phone call or via email.
Any and all street drugs must be stopped at least two weeks prior to the start of your program and may not be resumed for at least two weeks following your last ceremony. These are contraindicated with Ayahuasca and can be severely dangerous or fatal when combined. If you are currently suffering from addiction or have suffered from addiction in the recent past, the time required to be clear of these substances may vary. While all can cause adverse and dangerous reactions, some that are extremely dangerous to combine with MAOI’s
Marijuana must be stopped at least two weeks prior to the start of your program and may not be resumed for at least two weeks following your last ceremony. This is energetically contraindicated with Ayahuasca, and may block or negatively affect both the experience of the person that has used marijuana, as well as that of the overall group.
Specific pharmaceutical medications that must be discontinued before your retreat as they cannot be combined with Ayahuasca. Please consult your doctor before going off any medication. If it is safe to do so under medical advice, discontinue medications 4 weeks before your retreat.
